Dr. Adam Bowers
Dr. Adam Bowers is a North Carolina native, originally from Rocky Mount. He first attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to study journalism and, after graduating, worked in public relations in both New York City and North Carolina. While he enjoyed the creativity and communication involved in that career, he ultimately felt called to work that allowed him to care for others more directly. That realization brought him back to Chapel Hill, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UNC Adams School of Dentistry.
Before settling in Durham, Dr. Bowers practiced dentistry in Wilmington, North Carolina; Long Island, New York; and the Triad. He believes strongly in thoughtful, conservative dentistry and in taking the time to help patients understand their oral health and treatment options. His commitment to continuing education has taken him to the Pankey Institute, and he has completed the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine’s Mastery Program, receiving qualification to provide oral appliance therapy for obstructive sleep apnea.
Outside the office, Dr. Bowers is an avid reader who tries to finish 50 books each year, enjoys playing disc golf, and spends plenty of time chasing his Wheaten Terrier, Wally, around the house. He is married to his dental school classmate, Dr. Roberta Blazzio Bowers, who is completing specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in Long Island, NY.
Dr. Suman and [his] entire team are very friendly, welcoming and made my dental experience easy and pain free. My teeth feel great and I definitely will be back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
