Comfort Built Into Every Treatment Room
We want your time at Renaissance Family Dentistry to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Every treatment room has been designed with both your care and your experience in mind.
Each room has two televisions—one positioned in front of you and another above the dental chair. We can use them to review your X-rays, photographs, and 3D scans together, or you can simply choose something you'd like to watch during your appointment.
You'll also have access to complimentary Wi-Fi, bottled water, and a fleece blanket if you'd like one. They're small details, but we think they make a difference—because a dental office can provide excellent care without feeling clinical or impersonal.
Panoramic X-Rays
A panoramic X-ray gives us a broad view of your teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures in a single image. Unlike traditional dental X-rays, the sensor remains outside your mouth while the machine moves around your head to capture the image.
This wider perspective allows us to evaluate areas that are difficult to see with smaller dental X-rays. Panoramic images can be particularly helpful for assessing developing and impacted teeth, evaluating the jawbones and jaw joints, and identifying other findings that may require a closer look.
As with all of our dental imaging, we recommend panoramic X-rays when they are appropriate for your individual needs. When we take one, Dr. Bowers can review the image with you on the operatory television and explain any findings that are relevant to your care.
Digital Impressions - No Putty Required
Traditional dental impressions require trays filled with impression material that must remain in your mouth while the material sets. At Renaissance Family Dentistry, our intraoral scanner allows us to create a highly detailed three-dimensional model of your teeth digitally—without the putty.
The scanner captures thousands of images as it moves around your teeth and combines them into a 3D model that appears on the screen in real time. We can use these digital impressions for treatments such as crowns, nightguards, clear aligners, and other appliances.
Digital scanning is also an important part of our new patient experience. Seeing your own teeth in three dimensions can make it much easier to understand your bite, tooth wear, alignment, and other findings that can be difficult to appreciate with a mirror alone.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays give us a detailed look at areas of your teeth and supporting bone that we cannot see during a visual examination alone. They are an important part of identifying cavities, evaluating bone levels, monitoring existing dental work, and detecting changes before they become larger problems.
At Renaissance Family Dentistry, we take X-rays based on your individual needs rather than automatically taking the same images at every visit. Your dental history, previous findings, current symptoms, and risk for dental disease all help determine when new images are appropriate.
Because the images are digital, they appear on our screens almost immediately. This allows Dr. Bowers to review them with you, enlarge areas of interest, compare them with previous images, and explain what he is seeing so you can better understand your oral health.
